Introducing Guerilla Wardrobe, my imaginary clothing brand that takes inspiration from alternative fashion labels, especially my favourite, Lip Service. Here I create unique pieces and assign them names just as if they come from a real clothing line!
I’m heavily motivated by an avoidance of fast fashion, so most of my projects involve second hand (thrifted for the Americans) materials. I’m trying to move away from mass manufacture to the best of my ability – the ethical and environmental impacts of our throw-away fashion industry play heavily on my mind.
There’s also something to be said for having clothing made for you. Not only to your own unique taste but also to fit your own unique body. I used to think I was uncomfortable with femininity, but I’m increasingly coming to understand that I was uncomfortable in feminine clothes because they just didn’t fit.
I’m still learning, so this website is as much for my own reference as it is for you to share in my process.
